Adaptive reuse and historic preservation

I understand that there’s a creative and functional balance involved in restoring or upgrading buildings to comply with modern needs.  

As a journalist I’ve written about architecture and building. I've also worked in an editorial capacity for an architectural publisher. And, for the last 15 years, I’ve been involved with the preservation and adaptive reuse community as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Conservancy. I’ve helped support and promote preservation issues by participating in tours of seminal Los Angeles structures including private residences and historic structures as well as serving on a committee that organized events promoting 20th Century architecture.
